Yuichi Kanai (Japan)

<1> What were your first impressions when you actually ran the car?
After starting the engine and adjusting the needle, the results from the first bit of throttle action were fantastic. The engine stayed with me all the way and the machine resonded accordingly. Expert drivers will get a kick out of this, but the ability to drive almost straight out of the box with this level of performance is fantastic for beginners.

<2> How does it compare to the 1/8 Inferno?
Jump performance is particularly good. Really stable for its small size. It responds much the same way as the 1/8 Inferno does to mid-air control. Incredible! A model this size that allows real race settings and that can be recommended to beginners is the ultimate combination!

<3> What did you find interesting about the mechanics?
I had to laugh at how close it was to the 1/8 Inferno MP777 that I designed. I take my hat off to it. There were a few changes due to the space restrictions, but almost everywhere I looked I saw the MP777. I think everyone should try and compare the two. If you know the MP777, you will be amazed.

<4> What did you think about the SIRIO engine?
Shows both great straight line acceleration, and also torque through and out of corners. Either way you look at it, you can recognize the power of the 09! Great quality and the SIRIO mark on the engine head looks cool too. Great originality. It starts so easily it seems perfect. I'm impressed that the famous engine maker Star Motor Co. has produced a true racing engine in this class.

<5> How do you think the 09 will be received in your country?
It certainly drew plenty of attention at the hobby shows. People spent a lot of time checking it out. As off-road machines are growing in popularity, this will only increase it. If you want one, you better get in quick as I think this will sell out pretty fast. (Laugh) I'm serious about that.
